A new award that we are incredibly proud of This year’s Berlin Prestige Awards awarded Matabooks first place in the category “Sustainable New Business of the Year”! The Prestige Awards recognize young companies that have proven to be outstanding in their field over the past twelve months. The award show places particular emphasis on the quality of the products, as well as their innovative and ethical values.
It is a great honor for us that we were able to convince with our sustainable books made of grass paper – and we are very happy about it. We will continue to work for sustainable publishing – with new projects, books and novels that you can already look forward to!
At Matabooks, we only use raw materials from organic cultivation and our products are “Made in Germany”. The grass for our paper comes from the Swabian Alb and is harvested by hay farmers, sun-dried and finally processed into grass paper. Matabooks ensures fair and social working conditions in all areas of the company, and we also support projects with a similar focus. To this end, we donate a portion of the proceeds from each book sold to charitable organizations. In addition, we enable particularly creative young people to publish their work at Matabooks. All our products have recycled components and are recyclable themselves! With our products, we thus support the natural give and take in the circle of life. The name Matabooks is derived from the word “mother” in the indigenous Indian language Sanskrit. For us, it is the expression of respect toward “Mother Nature”.
